Job summary

Kids In Distress is seeking a Home Visitor to support families through regular in-home visits, education on parenting and child development, and connecting families with community resources.

The role requires building trusting relationships, completing screenings, and coordinating with supervision and training activities. A high school diploma or GED and a willingness to travel to client homes are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and at least 1 year of experience working with children or families.
• Must be computer literate and able to complete documents in Microsoft Word.
• Must have transportation and be willing to visit clients in their homes; valid Florida driver’s license with reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain regular home visiting services for a caseload of families.
• Provide education on parenting, child development and home safety.
• Complete child developmental and parent screens; model positive parent-child interactions.
• Assist families in creating and achieving goals; link to community resources as needed.
• Complete and submit required documentation; participate in supervision and trainings.
• Attend team meetings and community events; engage in outreach as needed.
• Review screens/referrals to determine eligibility; initiate outreach to potential participants.
• Complete the HFFAT within 30 days of enrollment; make appropriate referrals for ancillary services.
