Position Summary

The Family Support/Early Childhood Specialist is responsible for the ongoing management of an average of 15 children and families. This includes goal planning, development, and maintaining case records. The role also involves planning and advocacy of services to assist families, administering Ages and Stages Questionnaire Screenings, and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Case Management & Family Support
  2. Conduct weekly home visits.
  3. Develop and maintain weekly case records of interactions, indicating progress towards objectives.
  4. Administer developmental screenings for program participants.
  5. Encourage parent participation in program and agency activities.
  6. Conduct community outreach.
  7. Function as a mandated Child Abuse and Neglect Reporter.
  8. Prepare all release and consent forms.
  9. Submit necessary statistical data and forms required by funding sources.
  10. Administer participant satisfaction surveys.
  11. Write weekly and quarterly reports for the Program Supervisor.
  12. Ensure timely completion and submission of documentation.
  13. Collaborate with agency partners and community service providers.
  14. Participate in staff development and contribute to program improvement.
  15. Foster Care Prevention Program Collaboration
  16. Attend Intake Meetings and Service Plan Reviews.
  17. Conduct bi-weekly home visits.
  18. Ensure all Prevention families receive ages and stages screening.
  19. Participate in case management, planning, and advocacy services.
  20. Serve as an advocate during client case reviews.
  21. Keep staff informed of program status.
  22. Complete all required documentation timely.
  23. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
  • BS in Education and/or Human Services preferred or an AA Degree with related experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
  • Relevant work experience and training may substitute for education.
  • Use of own vehicle and valid NY State Driver's License in good standing.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits, including 14 paid holidays, health insurance from the first month, sick leave, and personal time from day one. Salary: $24.67/hour (range $38,000 - $45,000). Full-time, 40 hours/week. Opportunities for professional growth are available.
