Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division in Michigan seeks a Family Store Assistant Manager to support store operations and customer service at the Family Store. You will work with store associates, assist with training, handle cash daily, and ensure adherence to policies.

In the absence of the store manager, you will serve as the manager and drive customer development strategies. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least 2 years in retail, and proficiency with Microsoft

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in retail sales.

Responsibilities

• Supervise clerks to ensure compliance with directives.
• Assist training of new staff.
• Bank daily cash receipts and forward reports to appropriate personnel.
• Attend monthly managers' meetings and relay new policies.
• Lead customer development and retention plans for excellent service.
• Identify and report safety hazards; protect personnel and property.
• Escalate any detrimental behavior to the Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
