New LHRC External Career Site is seeking a Family Services Specialist II to develop and implement individualized service plans across Employment Services and Child Care, with potential involvement in Adult/Adult Protective Services, Child Protective Services, Foster Care, and Adoptions.

The role emphasizes interviewing, assessing client needs, coordinating services, and providing case management while adhering to laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of social work principles and practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Ability to interview, assess needs, counsel and refer clients.

Responsibilities

• Interprets laws, policies and regulations as applied to the area of responsibility.
• Monitors and administers specific programs as assigned.
• Coordinates services within the area of responsibility.
• Interviews and assesses customer needs and related factors such as education/skill levels, abilities and support systems.
• Informs clients of related service programs rules and participation rights.
• Presents cases to determine appropriate services and writes/implements service plans.
• Provides case management to monitor compliance and manages waiting lists.
• Tracks expenditures and prepares budget estimates; ensures payment for services.
• Completes federal, state and local planning and reporting requirements.
• Coordinates with other agencies and participates in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Performs overall monitoring of programs in the area of responsibility.
• Serves as resource to clients and the community; provides after-hours on-call coverage.
