About the Position

Sterling White Funeral Home & Cemetery is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and professional Family Service Counselor to join our team. The Family Service Counselor plays an important role in helping families make meaningful decisions about preplanning, cemetery property, memorialization, and funeral service options. This position is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, is comfortable building relationships, and understands that serving a family is about much more than making a sale.

We are looking for someone who can combine compassion with confidence, communicate professionally, follow through on commitments, and create a positive experience for every family. Bilingual Spanish-English candidate encouraged to apply.

What You Will Do

• Meet with families to understand their needs, wishes, and concerns.
• Educate families about funeral, cemetery, cremation, memorialization, and preplanning options.
• Present products and services in a clear, respectful, and professional manner.
• Assist families with selecting cemetery property, memorials, cremation niches, and other arrangements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with families and members of the community.
• Follow up with prospective families and existing customers.
• Make outbound calls and respond to inquiries and leads.
• Participate in community events and outreach activities.
• Work closely with funeral directors and cemetery administration to ensure a smooth experience for families.
• Maintain accurate customer records and contracts.
• Meet established sales and service goals.
• Participate in training, team meetings, and role-play activities.
• Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after the sale.
• Must have valid driver license and ability to obtain life insurance license.
