Job summary

Professional Services Group & Community Impact Programs in Oshkosh, WI seeks a Family Safety Specialist to support at-risk youth and families through safety planning, parenting education, and crisis intervention. You will assist with intake, conduct home visits, and coordinate transportation for supervised visits to ensure safe, positive family experiences.

The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with one evening shift weekly, rotating holidays, and local travel throughout Winnebago County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• Reliable transportation daily with valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• One year of experience working with youth and families preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview and evaluate clients to complete intake for Safety Services and Mobile Response programs.
• Analyze client situations to determine services needed and de-escalate safety threats.
• Conduct face-to-face contacts and home visits to ensure safety and cooperation with safety plans.
• Formulate, implement, and review family safety/crisis plans and mentor families.
• Provide parenting education, support, and advocacy through individual, family, or group work.
• Safely transport clients as needed.

Are you passionate about supporting at-risk youth and families? Join our team at Professional Services Group! We are a community-based social services organization dedicated to supporting at-risk families through dynamic, innovative, and culturally-responsive programming.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Safety Services and Supervised Visitation Programs with PSG work with families referred from the Winnebago County Human Services Department to maintain safety in homes where children are at risk of being removed due to abuse/neglect issues, or families who are in the process of reunification. As the Safety Services De-escalation and Visitation Worker, you will work closely with families to address a wide range of concerns including: safety, enhancing the parent-child relationship, parenting, household management, nutrition, safe and stable housing, service acquisition, education, employment, medical, mental health, and/or substance abuse issues. This role is also responsible for transporting children to supervised visits with their parents, siblings, or other family members, and ensuring a safe and positive visiting experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE Family Safety Specialist:

• Interview and evaluate clients to complete the intake process of the Safety Services and Mobile Response programs.
• Analyze client situations, capabilities, and problems to determine services required to control safety threats.
• Act as a resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating crisis situations with youth and families.
• Conduct face-to-face contact and home visits with families to ensure safety and cooperation with the safety plan.
• Formulate, implement, evaluate, and review family safety and/or crisis plans.
• Mentor families in accordance with their safety and/or crisis plans.
• Provide parenting education, support, and advocacy to program clients through individual, family, and/or group work.
• Safely transport clients as needed.

LOCATION:

Oshkosh, WI. Local travel is required throughout Winnebago County and surrounding areas to meet clients within the home or other community spaces.

SCHEDULE:

Full-time 40 hours per week. All schedules will include a minimum of one evening shift per week and rotating holidays. Currently hiring for both shift schedules:

• Sunday-Thursday schedule
• Monday-Friday schedule, with one weekend required per month

PAY RATE:

$22.00 per hour

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related.
• Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
