Professional Services Group, Inc. is hiring a Safety Services De-Escalation and Visitation Worker in Oshkosh, WI.

This full-time role works with families referred from the Winnebago County Human Services Department to maintain home safety and support reunification efforts. You will provide education, crisis planning, and coaching to families while transporting children to supervised visits and ensuring positive experiences for all participants.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related.
• One year of experience working with youth and families is preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide parenting education, support, and advocacy to clients.
• Conduct safe, supervised visits and monitor interactions.
• Analyze client needs to determine required services and safety plans.
• Create and review safety assessments and crisis plans.
• Mentor families according to safety/crisis plans.

Professional Services Group is now hiring for the Safety Services De-Escalation and Visitation Worker!

Are you passionate about supporting at-risks youth and families? Join the PSG team! We are a community-based social services organization dedicated to supporting at-risks families through dynamic, innovative, and culturally-responsive programming.

Job Summary

The Safety Services and Supervised Visitation Programs with PSG work with families referred from the Winnebago County Human Services Department to maintain safety in homes where children are at risk of being removed due to abuse/neglect issues, or families who are in the process of reunification. As the Safety Services De-Escalation and Visitation Worker, you will work closely with families to address a wide range of concerns including: safety, enhancing the parent-child relationship, parenting, household management, nutrition, safe and stable housing, service acquisition, education, employment, medical, mental health, and/or substance abuse issues. This role is also responsible for transporting children to supervised visits with their parents, siblings, or other family members, and ensuring a safe and positive visiting experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE SAFETY SERVICES DE-ESCALATION AND VISITATION WORKER

• Provide parenting education, support, and advocacy to program clients through individual, family, and group work.
• Utilize knowledge of child development to conduct safe, supervised visits with family members. Visits must be positive and interactive between caregiver/child.
• Analyze client situations, capabilities, and needs to determine services required to control safety threats.
• Create, implement, and review client safety assessments and crisis plans.
• Mentor families in accordance with their safety/crisis plans.
• Act as a resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating crisis situations with youth and families.
• Monitor child/family interaction during visitations.
• Redirect families and provide feedback during visitations, as needed.
• Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
• Safely transport clients as needed.

LOCATION

Oshkosh, WI. Local travel is required throughout Winnebago County and surrounding areas to meet clients within the home or other community spaces.

SCHEDULE

Full-time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday and rotating weekends.

PAY RATE

$22.00 per hour
