Professional Services Group & Community Impact Programs in Oshkosh, WI is hiring a Safety Services De-Escalation and Visitation Worker to support at-risk families. You’ll provide parenting education, facilitate safe supervised visits, assess risks, develop crisis plans, and transport clients when needed to visits.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field; reliable transportation; and 1 year of experience with youth/families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a social services field required (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice).
• Must have reliable daily transportation, valid driver's license and insurance.
• One year of experience with youth and families preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide parenting education, support, and advocacy to program clients.
• Conduct safe, supervised visits with families; ensure positive, interactive visits.
• Analyze client situations to determine needed services to reduce safety threats.
• Create, implement, and review client safety assessments and crisis plans.
• Mentor families according to safety/crisis plans.
• De-escalate crises and act as an advocate for clients in emergencies.
• Monitor and redirect families during visitations as needed.
• Safely transport clients to visits when required.
• Collaborate with Winnebago County DHS for case coordination.

Professional Services Group is now hiring for the Safety Services De-Escalation and Visitation Worker!

JOB SUMMARY:

The Safety Services and Supervised Visitation Programs with PSG work with families referred from the Winnebago County Human Services Department to maintain safety in homes where children are at risk of being removed due to abuse/neglect issues, or families who are in the process of reunification. As the Safety Services De-escalation and Visitation Worker, you will work closely with families to address a wide range of concerns including: safety, enhancing the parent-child relationship, parenting, household management, nutrition, safe and stable housing, service acquisition, education, employment, medical, mental health, and/or substance abuse issues. This role is also responsible for transporting children to supervised visits with their parents, siblings, or other family members, and ensuring a safe and positive visiting experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE SAFETY SERVICES DE-ESCALATION AND VISITATION WORKER:

• Provide parenting education, support, and advocacy to program clients through individual, family, and group work.


• Utilize knowledge of child development to conduct safe, supervised visits with family members. Visits must be positive and interactive between caregiver/child.


• Analyze client situations, capabilities, and needs to determine services required to control safety threats.


• Create, implement, and review client safety assessments and crisis plans.


• Mentor families in accordance with their safety/crisis plans.


• Act as a resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating crisis situations with youth and families.


• Monitor child/family interaction during visitations.


• Redirect families and provide feedback during visitations, as needed.


• Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.


• Safely transport clients as needed.

LOCATION: Oshkosh, WI. Local travel is required throughout Winnebago County and surrounding areas to meet clients within the home or other community spaces.

SCHEDULE: Full-time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday and rotating weekends.

PAY RATE: $22.00 per hour
