Job summary

Wu Yee Children’s Services is seeking a Family Resource Center Coordinator to lead day-to-day operations of the Joy Lok Center in San Francisco. You will design, implement, and coordinate playgroups, family events, and parent groups, supporting healthy families through evidence-based practices.

The role requires Cantonese/English bilingual abilities, a strong early childhood background, and experience with community resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Child Development, and/or related field with at least three years paid experience.
  • Minimum of three years working with children and parents/caregivers.
  • Bilingual and bi-literate in Cantonese/English required.
  • Strong Early Childhood Education background.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Family Resource Center Manager in managing day-to-day operations, administration, planning of program activities, and business development of the Joy Lok Family Resource Center.
  • Plan and facilitate program activities, including playgroups, parent support groups, workshops, field trips, parent action grants, resource and referral services, and family/special events.
  • Develop and facilitate parent-child playgroups with developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities; promote an early literacy curriculum for this group.
  • Design and conduct early literacy curriculum along with Ages and Stages assessments tools for playgroup children.
  • Coordinate and facilitate parent support groups based on the Five Protective Factors and Family Development principles.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the Triple P and Magic 1-2-3 parenting programs with a co-facilitator; provide one-on-one parenting consultations.
  • Provide Enhanced Resource and Referral case consultations, assessments, and follow-ups.
  • Mentor and coach the Perinatal Program Specialist and Program Assistant; support prenatal workshops and early literacy coaching.
  • Provide weekly check-ins with Perinatal Program Specialist on implementation, tracking, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate to meet contract goals for the FRC Initiative and perinatal pilot program.
  • Collaborate with community partners on special programming; liaison between NEMS and Joy Lok with FRC Manager.
  • Work with Family Service Coordinator and staff to ensure successful cross-referrals.
  • Develop cooperative relationships with community networks to ensure referrals and linkages to services.
  • Conduct outreach events and parenting workshops; promote services to community members and schools.
  • Gather and analyze program data for reports to funders; provide translation/interpretation as needed.
  • Assist in program research, development, and assessment; participate in outreach and enrollment activities.

Family Resource Center Coordinator provides lead coordination and support to the Joy Lok Family Resource Center. The coordinator will work closely with the Family Support Manager to implement appropriate and family-friendly programs to help build healthy families and meet contract goals. The position also has a focus in design and implementing playgroups, parent support groups, family events, and resource and referral responsibilities.

Location: 888 Clay Street San Francisco CA (Req #1702)

Position: Full time Mon-Friday 8:30 - 5:00 pm

Language: Bilingual and bi-literate in Cantonese/English required.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Family Resource Center Manager in managing day-to-day operations, administration, planning of program activities, and business development of the Joy Lok Family Resource Center.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to plan and facilitate program activities, including playgroups, parent support groups, workshops, field trips, parent action grants, resource and referral services, and family/special events.
  • Develop and facilitate the parent-child playgroups with developmentally age-appropriate curriculum and activities, as well as promote an early literacy curriculum for this group.
  • Design and conduct early literacy curriculum along with Ages and stages assessments tools for playgroup children
  • Coordinate and facilitate parent support groups including developing content based on the Five Protective Factors and using the Core Principles of Family Development approach to support parent needs and interests.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the Triple P Positive Parenting Program and Magic 1-2-3 parenting model with a co-facilitator; provide one-on-one parenting consultations to participants and ensure program documentation needs are met.
  • Provide one-on-one Enhanced Resource and Referral case consultations with families; conduct brief assessments that identify strengths and needs to support self-advocacy skills, implement individual service plans, make appropriate service referrals as needed, and provide timely follow-ups to ensure that needs are met.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Perinatal Program Specialist and Program Assistant through mentoring, coaching, and program planning support for prenatal workshops and early literacy coaching.
  • Provide weekly check-ins with Perinatal Program Specialist on implementation, tracking process, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with the FRC Manager to ensure the program meets contract goals for the FRC Initiative and the new perinatal pilot program.
  • Collaborate with community partners on special programming, especially as a liaison between NEMS and Joy Lok alongside the FRC Manager.
  • Work closely with the Family Service Coordinator as well as other internal family service staff to ensure successful cross-referrals between programs
  • Initiate, develop and maintain cooperative relationships with community networks, collaborations, agencies, and internal staff to develop systems and structures to ensure successful referrals and linkages to services.
  • Conduct culturally and linguistically appropriate outreach events and parenting workshops to community members, child care centers, and schools to promote the agency’s services.
  • Gather and analyze program data in assisting with the preparation of reports to funders.
  • Provide translation and interpretation of materials as needed.
  • Assist in program research, development, and assessment.
  • Participate in outreach and recruitment activity throughout the year, to identify new families for enrollment, including but not limited to enrollment fairs, street fairs, community presentations, and cultural events. Some evenings and some weekend duties required for.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, experience & skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Child Development, and/or related field and at least three years paid experience.
  • Minimum of three years of working experience with children and parents/caregivers.
  • Bilingual and bi-literate in Cantonese/English required.
  • Strong Early Childhood Education background.
  • Some supervision experience
  • Strong interest in working with families and young children.
  • Strong knowledge of community resources, strengths, and needs.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong in using computer software.
  • Working knowledge of Family Support Service / Family Resource Center principles.

Compensation and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $59,738 - $92,240 A new hire generally starts between $59,738 and $75,870. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets, relevant experience, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
    Additional $150 per pay period stipend at Golden Gate & Kirkwood Centers.
