Job summary

Wu Yee Children's Services is seeking an IRISE Apprenticeship Coordinator in San Francisco to coordinate recruitment, placement, and support for participants and Mentor Teachers in the Registered Apprenticeship Program. You will partner with community organizations and colleges to recruit a diverse pipeline and ensure successful apprentice placement and integration.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Work, Public Administration, Child Development, or related field preferred or equivalent.

  • Coordinate recruitment, interviewing, placement and onboarding of apprentices and Mentor Teachers; monitor progress and coordinate classroom placements.
  • Manage administrative functions of the Registered Apprenticeship Program, including records, training documentation, contracts and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate participant and program records using Salesforce and other systems; track recruitment, enrollment and completion data.

Job description

The IRISE Apprenticeship Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the recruitment, placement, and ongoing support of participants and Mentor Teachers in Wu Yee's Registered Apprenticeship Program. This position builds partnerships with community organizations, colleges, and workforce agencies to recruit a diverse pipeline of early childhood professionals, while ensuring successful apprentice placement and integration into Wu Yee Early Learning Centers. The Coordinator also manages apprenticeship administration, compliance, participant tracking, and reporting, while collaborating across departments to strengthen workforce development and expand career pathways in early childhood education.

Location: 888 Clay St. San Francisco CA (Req #1701)

Position: Full time | non-exempt | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm | Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:
Apprentice & Mentor Coordination:
  • Coordinate the recruitment, interviewing, selection, placement, and onboarding of apprentices and Mentor Teachers. Support apprentices throughout the program by monitoring progress, providing guidance, coordinating classroom placements, and collaborating with supervisors and mentors to promote participant success, retention, and completion.
Apprenticeship Administration & Compliance:
  • Manage all administrative functions of the Registered Apprenticeship Program, including maintaining participant records, training documentation, work process schedules, contracts, and compliance files. Ensure adherence to Department of Labor (DOL), California Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS), grant, and organizational requirements through accurate reporting and documentation.
Data Management & Program Monitoring:
  • Maintain accurate participant and program records utilizing Salesforce and other data management systems. Track recruitment, enrollment, retention, educational progress, and completion data while preparing reports and supporting program evaluation and continuous quality improvement efforts.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of the Registered Apprenticeship Program by identifying opportunities to strengthen recruitment, participant supports, administrative systems, and workforce partnerships. Contribute to grant reporting, strategic planning, and special projects that advance organizational workforce development goals.
Education Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Work, Public Administration, Child Development, or a related field preferred or ability to demonstrate work related equivalency.
  • Completion of 12 ECE units
Required Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of the San Francisco Community
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with low-income individuals and families.
  • At least 2 years of community organizing and outreach experience.
  • 2 years of experience in Early Learning programming
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including comfort with conducting extensive community outreach presentations.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Availability to work several weekends and some evenings throughout the year as required.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • The pay range for this position is$32.90 - $51.00.A new hire generally starts between $32.90.72 and $41.95. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets, relevant experience, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
