Job summary

Wu Yee Children's Services in San Francisco seeks a Family Resource Center Coordinator to support daily operations, facilitate playgroups, parent groups, and community outreach, while delivering culturally and linguistically responsive services.

You will assist the FRC Manager with program planning, case management, referrals, workshops, and reporting, coordinating with mental health consultants and partners to strengthen services for families and children.

  • At least three years paid experience with children and families.
  • Bilingual Cantonese/English required.

Family Resource Center Coordinator supports the Family Resource Center Manager with daily operations while providing culturally and linguistically responsive services to families. Facilitate playgroups, parent support groups, parenting programs, workshops, outreach, case management, and resource and referral services. Support family advocacy, staff mentorship, community partnerships, cross-referrals, and program reporting.

Position:

Full time Mon-Friday 8:30 - 5:00 pm

Language:

Bilingual and bi-literate in Cantonese/English required.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the FRC Manager in managing daily operations, administration, program planning, and business development.
  • Plan and facilitate activities collaboratively, including playgroups, support groups, field trips, grants, referrals, and events.
  • Develop and lead parent-child playgroups with age-appropriate and early literacy curriculum, utilizing Ages and Stages assessment tools.
  • Coordinate parent support groups alongside a Mental Health Consultant, utilizing the Five Protective Factors and a strength-based approach.
  • Provide one-on-one case management and screen clients for public benefits, housing, employment, and low-income assistance.
  • Assist clients in applying for services in person or by phone and follow up to ensure needs are met.
  • Co-facilitate the Triple P Positive Parenting Program and Magic 1-2-3 models, providing individual parenting consultations and maintaining program documentation.
  • Provide Enhanced Resource and Referral case consultations, conduct brief needs assessments, implement service plans, make referrals, and provide timely follow-ups.
  • Mentor Family Services Specialists on fulfilling requirements, identifying gaps, and problem-solving with the Joy Lok Manager.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with community networks and internal staff to ensure successful service linkages.
  • Ensure successful cross-referrals between programs by working closely with internal family service staff.
  • Conduct culturally and linguistically appropriate community outreach to promote agency services.
  • Research, design, and conduct bilingual trainings and workshops for parents, agencies, and schools.
  • Assist with funder reports, coordinate family advocacy efforts, provide translation/interpretation, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in outreach and recruitment activity throughout the year, to identify new families for enrollment, including but not limited to enrollment fairs, street fairs, community presentations, and cultural events. Some evenings and some weekend duties required for.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, experience & skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Child Development, and/or related field and at least three years paid experience.
  • Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education Core units, including 3 infant/toddler units (or ability to attain within 12 months).
  • Minimum of three years of working experience with children and parents/caregivers.
  • Bilingual and bi-literate in Cantonese/English required.
  • At least two years of paid experience working with low-income API families and children.
  • Working knowledge of community resources and strong background in a community service setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data tracking software like Salesforce or Oasis.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends when required.

Physical and Cognitive Demands:
  • Frequently walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects/tools/controls, talk, and hear. Often required to stand, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and a 40-pound child in case of emergency.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • The pay range for this position is $59,738 - $92,240 A new hire generally starts between $59,738 and $75,870. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets, relevant experience, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. Additional $150 per pay period stipend at Golden Gate & Kirkwood Centers.
