Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden's Everett Children’s Adventure Garden seeks a Family Programs Supervisor to help run family programming and support Explainers. The role requires weekend/holiday work from September through June, with a focus on delivering high-quality outdoor science experiences for children and families.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, ensuring safe guest experiences, managing flow of visitors, and maintaining activity stations with educational materials.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in education, museum studies or natural sciences.
• Experience teaching in informal outdoor settings with children and families.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and mentor staff and volunteers in implementing plant-science activities.
• Ensure excellent customer service for Garden guests at Pop Up Space.
• Monitor visitor flow and manage crowd directions.
• Reset exhibits and restock educational materials at activity stations.
• Oversee setup and cleanup of activity stations.
