Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden invites applications for an Education Greeter. This front-line role welcomes school groups at the Garden Gate, helps ensure prompt arrival for registered programs, and provides orientation and information upon arrival and departure.

Work is outdoors in varying weather, with a few hours per day, Tuesday through Friday 9 AM to 1 PM as a temporary, part-time position. Candidate should be ready to move between school buses and groups and to coordinate with Security and

Qualifications

Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to ascend/descend school bus stairs.
Ability for fast-paced movement between school buses and groups.
Willingness and ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and be outdoors.
Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.
Driver’s License preferred.
High School Diploma or Equivalency required.

Responsibilities

Greet and accurately check in school groups at School Gate.
Provide orientation and assistance to school groups at different locations within the Garden, as assigned.
Communicate with Registration Office and Children's Education managers regarding updates / issues with visiting School Groups.
Become conversant in activities and interests related to school group's needs.
