Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a Family Preservation Specialist to deliver intensive in-home crisis intervention, counseling, and skill-building for families with at-risk children under the NJ FPS program.
The role focuses on keeping children safe, strengthening families, and promoting reunification, with a small caseload and crisis responsiveness as core duties.
Summary of Position: The Family Preservation Specialist is responsible for providing intensive, in-home crisis intervention, counseling, and skill-building for families with children at imminent risk of placement or in placement and in need of intensive services to support reunification using the New Jersey Family Preservation Services (FPS) Program Model. The NJ FPS model is designed to keep children safe, strengthen families, prevent out-of-home placement, and safely reunify children and their family. Family Preservation Specialists carry a caseload of no more than two (2) families at any given time, except during the last week prior to discharging one family, when staff may carry a third (3) case.
