Job description

Geriatrics Opening in Vermont - Rutland, VT

Located 90 miles from Albany, NY, and 120 miles from Manchester, NH, this service area covers approximately 100,000 people. This is a unique opportunity for a physician to lead a novel geriatric service line that provides both direct patient care and consultative/educational support to the local provider community.

Responsibilities include program design, clinical care, and overseeing clinical operations. The role requires building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The group offers exclusive medical care to three Level I Skilled Nursing and Subacute Rehabilitation facilities in Rutland, Vermont. The position will serve in a consultative and supportive capacity for the independent SNF service line. Although related, these services are structured as distinct and independent units. The leadership position reports to the Chief Medical Officer, with services based at a newly constructed facility in Rutland, Vermont.

Knowledge, Education & Skill Requirements:

1. Graduate from an accredited medical school and completion of FM/IM residency.
2. Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
3. A geriatric fellowship and subsequent board certification are recommended but not required.
4. Eligibility for licensing by the State of Vermont.
5. Relevant experience working with the geriatric population.
6. Effective communication skills and sensitivity.
