Responsibilities

• Conduct investment and manager due diligence across public equities and alternatives.

• Monitor asset allocation against targets and support rebalancing and trade execution.
• Track capital calls, distributions, and reporting for alternative investments.
• Prepare quarterly client performance reports and investment committee materials.

A boutique, rapidly growing family owned multi-family office is seeking an Investment & Operations Associate to support investment research, manager due diligence, and portfolio reporting across a multi-asset portfolio spanning public equities and alternative investments.

This is a unique opportunity to join a small, high-caliber investment team managing several hundred million in assets across public equities and alternative investments, with broad exposure to portfolio strategy, manager due diligence, and firm-building initiatives.

The role sits at the intersection of investment analysis, portfolio operations, and process improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both analytical work and building systems that help an organization scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct investment and manager due diligence across public equities and alternative strategies, including research memos and ongoing monitoring
• Analyze portfolio performance and positioning — attribution, benchmarking, and risk metrics — using Bloomberg and Addepar
• Monitor asset allocation against investment policy targets and support rebalancing and trade execution
• Track capital calls, distributions, and reporting for alternative investment holdings
• Prepare quarterly client performance reports and investment committee materials
• Conduct market and economic research to inform portfolio strategy
• Support SEC compliance documentation and regulatory preparation
• Help formalize and improve investment operations workflows and reporting infrastructure
• Support CRM optimization and client onboarding workflows
• Assist with account administration and custodian coordination for trade settlement and cash movements

Ideal Background

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field, with experience in investment research, portfolio management, or investment operations at an RIA, family office, or asset manager
• Bloomberg Terminal experience required
• Strong understanding of portfolio construction and performance concepts (asset allocation, attribution, risk/return metrics, IPS compliance)
• Exposure to alternative investments (private equity, private credit, real estate, or hedge funds) a strong plus
• Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial investment environment
• Self-starter who enjoys building processes and improving systems
• High level of professionalism and discretion

Preferred

• Progress toward CFA or CAIA charter
• Familiarity with SEC regulatory environments
