Pax Recruiting in Austin, TX is seeking a proactive Family Office Associate to own capital forecasting across operating businesses and investment holdings. You’ll build dashboards and reporting that translate complex numbers into actionable insights and work closely with leadership, accounting, and investment partners to drive informed decisions.

You will help shape investment evaluation processes, improve internal systems, and contribute to portfolio monitoring.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in investment management, consulting, private banking, finance, analytics, or another rigorous analytical environment.
• Strong financial modeling skills and comfort building models from scratch.
• Familiarity with investment concepts and return metrics (IRR, MOIC, cash flow analysis, etc.)
• Experience using AI tools in a practical, workflow-oriented way

About the Opportunity

This role is with a lean, entrepreneurial investment office supporting a founder with a long track record of building and investing in businesses across multiple industries. The team operates across investments, operating companies, and philanthropic initiatives, with a focus on long-term value creation, thoughtful capital allocation, and building things that matter. This is not a large institutional environment where work disappears into layers of hierarchy. The team is small, fast-moving, and highly collaborative. People are trusted with real responsibility early and expected to think like owners.

The Role

We're looking for a Family Office Associate to help own and improve the organization’s capital planning and business intelligence ecosystem. This person will work across financial modeling, dashboards, reporting, research, and investment operations to help leadership better understand where capital, time, and attention should be focused. You'll work closely with leadership, accounting, outside advisors, and investment partners to gather information, refine systems, and translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. Over time, this role will also help shape internal processes around investment evaluation, documentation, and portfolio monitoring. This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role with significant exposure to leadership and meaningful room for growth as capability and ownership expand.

What You'll Do

Special Projects & Strategic Support

• Support family-office-related reporting, planning, and organizational initiatives
• Contribute to projects tied to philanthropy, education, public policy, or broader strategic interests as needed
• Take ownership of cross-functional projects in a fast-moving environment

Experience & Qualifications

• Comfortable working with dashboards, presentations, and financial reporting
• Familiarity with Notion or similar organizational/documentation platforms is a plus
• Strong references who can speak to judgment, ownership, and discretion
