Job summary

Venice Family Clinic in Los Angeles is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide and coordinate the care of General Surgery patients, adjust treatment plans, educate patients and families, and participate in rounds. You will document services and facilitate referrals to ensure safe continuity of care.

Requirements include MSN or DNP with FNP, CA NP and RN licenses, and National Board Certification. BLS is required, with preferred bilingual Spanish/English abilities and experience with outpatient

Qualifications

• BLS Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association is required.
• MSN/DNP with an FNP specialty is required.
• Current CA NP License and CA RN License are required.
• State of California NP, National Board Certification is required.
• Demonstrated skill in delivery of patient care is required.
• Over 2 years of outpatient medical management experience is required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English communication skills are preferred.
• Working knowledge of health, mental health and social services agencies in the area is preferred.
• Ability to utilize Excel, Word, and other software programs is required.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with staff and leadership is required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and set priorities is required.
• Demonstrate writing skills to produce clear, detailed, grammatically correct documentation.

Responsibilities

• Change treatment regimens after observing signs and symptoms and determine if abnormal findings exist.
• Provide and coordinate care for General Surgery patients.
• Provide patient/family education and promote safe continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds.
• Provide education and support and make appropriate referrals.
• Document services rendered.
