Job summary

American Family Care Elizabeth is seeking part-time Advanced Practice Providers (NPs or PAs) to deliver urgent care and occupational medicine in Elizabeth, NJ. You will report to the Medical Director and manage patient care on-shift, supervise clinical staff, and ensure timely charting while following clinic policies.

The role offers a highly competitive hourly rate and coverage of medical malpractice expenses, with clinics open weekdays 8am–8pm and weekends 8am–5pm.

Qualifications

• NJ medical license for PA or NP, NJ C.D.S. card and Federal D.E.A. license.
• Board-certification; ACLS and DOT certifications.
• Prior urgent care experience and familiarity with occupational medicine.
• Comfort with treating patients of all ages; ability to read x-rays.

Location Summary

Part-time position is for Advanced Practice Providers - Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and/or Physician Assistants (PAs) for urgent care in Elizabeth, NJ. The clinics provide high-quality walk-in medical care for treatment of acute illnesses and injuries. They also feature multiple exam rooms, digital x-rays, and an on-site laboratory. Position Description

Advanced Practice Providers report directly to Medical Director and are primarily responsible for delivery of high quality medical care to urgent care and occupational medicine patients. Mid-Level Providers must also: (i) actively manage all aspects of patient care while on-shift; (ii) supervise and direct the center’s other clinical staff; (iii) ensure that all charts are accurately completed in a timely manner; and (iv) adhere to all clinical policies and protocols. Our compensation plan is based on a highly competitive hourly rate. We also cover medical malpractice insurance expenses.

Qualifications

• NJ medical license for PA or NP, NJ C.D.S. card and Federal D.E.A. license;
• Board-certification;
• A.C.L.S. and D.O.T. certifications;
• Prior urgent care experience;
• Familiarity with occupational medicine;
• Comfort and experience treating patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics;
• Clinical ability to suture lacerations, drain abscesses, set minor fractures, and read x-rays;
• Clean medical malpractice record;
• Effective and compassionate communicator with staff, patients, and family;
• Willingness to mentor clinical staff;
• Highly professional appearance and attitude;
• Able to multi-task effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment;
• Willing to work 12-hr weekday and 9-hr weekend shifts, and
• High-energy individual with a positive attitude who is passionate about patient care.
