American Family Care in Elizabeth, NJ is seeking a part-time MD/DO to provide urgent care and occupational medicine services. Clinicians will oversee on-shift patient care, supervise support staff, and ensure timely chart completion in a fast-paced setting.

Location Summary

Part-time position is for MD (doctor of medicine)/DO (doctor of osteopathic medicine) for urgent care in Elizabeth, NJ. The clinics provide high-quality walk-in medical care for treatment of acute illnesses and injuries. They also feature multiple exam rooms, digital x-rays, and an on-site laboratory. Position Description

Positions report directly to Medical Director and are primarily responsible for delivery of high quality medical care to urgent care and occupational medicine patients. Providers must also: (i) actively manage all aspects of patient care while on-shift; (ii) supervise and direct the center’s other clinical staff; (iii) ensure that all charts are accurately completed in a timely manner; and (iv) adhere to all clinical policies and protocols. Our compensation plan is based on a highly competitive hourly rate. We also cover medical malpractice insurance expenses.

Qualifications

• NJ medical license for PA or NP, NJ C.D.S. card and Federal D.E.A. license;
• Board-certification;
• A.C.L.S. and D.O.T. certifications;
• Prior urgent care experience;
• Familiarity with occupational medicine;
• Comfort and experience treating patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics;
• Clinical ability to suture lacerations, drain abscesses, set minor fractures, and read x-rays;
• Clean medical malpractice record;
• Effective and compassionate communicator with staff, patients, and family;
• Willingness to mentor clinical staff;
• Highly professional appearance and attitude;
• Able to multi-task effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment;
• Willing to work 12-hr weekday and 9-hr weekend shifts, and
• High-energy individual with a positive attitude who is passionate about patient care.
