Job summary

Community Health Center Of Lubbock is seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to provide preventive and primary care as part of a health care team in an ambulatory setting. The NP collaborates with a physician and follows established guidelines to deliver patient-centered care.

The role requires TX RN licensure with a post-graduate NP program, DEA license, BLS, and strong communication in English (bilingual preferred). Expect 8am-5pm hours Mon-Fri with occasional weekends and on-call duties.

Qualifications

  • Must hold TX RN license and completed post-graduate NP program.
  • Texas RN licensure; BSN or higher with NP certification/licensure; DEA license; BLS.
  • Experience preferred but new graduates considered.
  • Primary health care expertise.
  • English language; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Travel occasionally; valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Hours: 8am-5pm M-F with some weekend/evening work; on-call.

Job Location: Main Clinic - Lubbock, TX 79401

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing preventive and primary care as a part of a health care team in an ambulatory setting in a particular discipline. The Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with a physician and provides care under established guidelines agreed upon by the nurse practitioner and the physician.

Duties
  • Providing primary care to patients
  • Performing initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations
  • Setting up and monitoring medical equipment
  • Ordering and administering diagnostic tests
  • Communicating test results to patients and their families
  • Recording patient medical histories
  • Operating and maintaining medical equipment
Qualifications
  • Education: Registered nurse and successful completion of a certified post-graduate program for nurse practitioners.
  • Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. BSN or advanced degree, certification and/or license in specialty. Maintains current DEA license. Current in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS).
  • Experience: Prefer experience but will consider new graduate.
  • Expertise: Primary health care
  • Language: English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Travel: Occasionally; valid Texas driver’s license and current auto insurance required; must have reliable and safe transportation.
  • Hours of Work: 8am-5pm M-F with some weekend/evening work. On-call required.
