Upson Regional Medical Center Thomaston, GA seeks a Residency Program Coordinator to support the Family Medicine Residency Program. The role focuses on operational management, coordination, and oversight, serving as a liaison among residents, faculty, hospital leaders, and accrediting bodies.

The Coordinator will handle rotations, recruitment activities, credentialing reviews, and program events, while ensuring compliance with accrediting standards and graduate medical education requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field with relevant program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages the development, planning and coordination of Residency rotations.
• Organizes the ERAS applicant interview process; coordinates recruitment activities, may involve extensive travel.
• Administers policy implementation for rules and regulations governing educational programs; reviews credentialing/licensure needs.
• Supports accreditation efforts with ACGME, RRC, GMEC, and HIPAA compliance.
• Develops and plans annual educational events: welcome ceremonies, orientation, graduation, and activities.
• Maintains a database for reporting and curriculum inventory; trains on New Innovations software.
• Oversees program budgets and expenditures with GME; reconciles accounts.
• Manages evaluation systems, files, and participant counseling as needed.
• Oversees administration of educational exams when required.
• Supervises GME office staff; interviews and evaluates personnel.
• Monitors duty hours, records, leave, and personnel policies for participants.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
