Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
• Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification) preferred
• Direct MA experience or medical field work 1–2 years required
• National MA Certification via AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCCT preferred
• Epic experience
• Ambulatory/Outpatient experience
• Primary Care experience

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and document patient information
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
• Explain procedures and medications to patients as directed by physicians
• Assist in examination and treatment under physician supervision
• Perform phone duties, insurance forms, and coordinate with departments
• Collect specimens or assist with phlebotomy as trained
• Maintain immunization inventory and check expiration dates
• Provide immunizations where certified or when supervised
