Overview

Under the direct supervision of a collaborative physician, physician site leader, and practice manager, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) provides medical care to patients within a detailed scope of practice. The scope of practice identifies the range of clinical modalities and protocols agreed upon between the NP/PA and the collaborative physician. The NP/PA completes physicals; orders diagnostic and therapeutic modalities such as laboratory, x‑ray, EKG; performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management; prescribes medications; instructs and educates patients and families; and documents in the patient chart. These responsibilities are performed under the scope of practice to optimize clinical outcomes. The NP/PA must be credentialed as a mid‑level provider by the same hospital(s) in which the collaborative physician has admitting privileges. This opportunity is based in Winchester, Illinois.

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved school for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistant – Master’s degree
• Licensed or ability to obtain licensure in the state of Missouri
• Previous experience (1+ years) as an APP in primary care or similar setting preferred

Qualifications

• National certification as Nurse Practitioner in applicable specialty required (ANCC); current state licensure as Advanced Practice Nurse and RN
• Current CPR (BLS) certification and, based on prescribed authority, active mid‑level practitioner controlled substance and DEA licenses may be required
• Minimum 1‑2 years working as Nurse Practitioner with specialty experience
• Excellent customer service skills, friendly and approachable demeanor
• Ability to adjust treatment, instruction, and education to meet patient age and cultural background
