Job summary

Weber State University is seeking a Family Literacy Facilitator to work directly with parents and children to promote intergenerational literacy and parenting skills. You will conduct home visits, teach literacy activities, and implement lessons while collaborating with the Family Literacy Project team.

The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, ability to engage diverse populations, and flexibility to meet family schedules; a High School Diploma is required, with a Bachelor's degree

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience serving families preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits.
• Teach parents and engage parent and child in literacy activities.
• Implement literacy and parenting lessons during home visits.
• Communicate with supervisors.
• Conduct pre- and post-family literacy assessments.
• Maintain and keep current required documentation.
• Ensure flexibility in schedule to accommodate family visits.
• Submit reports in a timely manner.
• Attend meetings and training.
