• Strong research and document review abilities for fact-gathering and case analysis.
• Prior experience as a family law paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in Texas.

Role Description The Family Law Paralegal will support attorneys with all aspects of family law and related immigration cases in a full-time, on-site role located in Houston, TX. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and organizing legal documents, drafting pleadings and motions, and assembling court packets and discovery responses. The role involves conducting legal and factual research, reviewing and summarizing case files, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records. The paralegal will communicate regularly with clients, courts, and opposing counsel, schedule hearings and appointments, and help manage case timelines and deadlines. This position also supports the overall efficiency of the firm by coordinating with attorneys on case strategy and ensuring that clients receive timely updates.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law and Family Law procedures, with experience supporting divorce, custody, and related matters.
• Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, affidavits, and basic immigration forms.
• Effective Communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, courts, and opposing counsel in a professional manner.
• Solid Research and Document Review abilities, including fact-gathering, legal research, and analyzing case documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Prior experience as a family law paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm setting, preferably in Texas.
• Familiarity with local court rules, e-filing systems, and litigation procedures.
• Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency with legal practice management software and standard office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PDF tools).
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site environment and maintain client confidentiality and professional ethics.
