Job summary

Plaza de la Raza Child Development Services, Inc. is seeking a Family Services Assistant to connect families with Head Start and Early Head Start services. The role manages a caseload, fosters trust with parents, and coordinates health, nutrition, and mental health resources within an integrated program.

Strong communication and cultural sensitivity are essential. The position reports to the Integrated Family Services Coordinator, requires an associate degree or FDC plus a high school diploma,

Qualifications

• Associate degree or FDC and a High School Diploma.
• One year of experience in parent involvement or social service setting assisting economically and socially disadvantaged families.
• Bi-lingual in a language reflective of the population served is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiates outreach activities to recruit eligible children.
• Conducts family assessments to determine eligibility for program services.
• Recruits, establishes a waitlist and enrolls eligible children to maintain 100% enrollment.
• Provides resources to families for emergency assistance or crisis intervention and follow-up.
• Engages families in the Family Partnership process to identify needs and resources.
