Qualifications

• 2–3 years experience working with diverse families in an urban setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of community organizations and social services serving families and children in Everett.
• Proficient in the home language of the families served.
• Ability to take independent initiative while collaborating with others.
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Demonstrated cultural proficiency and ability to lead conversations on race and culture.
• Willingness to learn and apply new skills and content.

Responsibilities

• Promotes family and student engagement to improve achievement.
• Conducts assessments of family engagement structures in the district.
• Creates and implements engagement surveys and focus groups.
• Responds empathetically to concerns with culturally sustaining practices.
• Develops strategies to empower parents as advocates for their children.
• Connects families to school supports and community resources.
• Ensures communication with families in home languages.
• Organizes family engagement events and workshops.
• Provides coordination to meet parent involvement requirements.
• Participates in professional development on family engagement best practices.
