Job summary

Easterseals Vermont is seeking a Family Engagement Specialist to support families in Bennington, VT. You will facilitate family meetings, provide in-home coaching to strengthen parenting in the context of DCF custody, and build extended family support networks.

A commitment to trauma-informed care and strong collaboration with agencies is essential. The role demands excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Two years of human services experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check are required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate family meetings and provide in-home support to strengthen families in their homes.
• Coach parents to ensure safe and nurturing time with children in DCF custody.
• Reach out to extended family members to explore support networks and create genograms.
• Collaborate with the Family Services Division to support families facing trauma, substance use, or poverty.
