Job summary

Community Progress Council seeks a caring Family Coach to join our Early Childhood Education team. You will build strong relationships with families, guide enrollment in CPC programs, connect families with community resources, and support goals toward school readiness and long-term self-sufficiency.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in Social Work or Human Services, one year of experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred or equivalent.
  • Experience: at least one year supporting families or in human services.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to engage individuals, families, and groups.

Responsibilities

  • Represent CPC’s mission, vision, and values in every interaction.
  • Connect families with CPC programs, services, and eligibility requirements.
  • Develop partnerships with local organizations to expand family resources.
  • Guide enrollment in Early Childhood Education with clarity and empathy.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify family strengths and barriers.
  • Provide personalized coaching to promote self-sufficiency and growth.
  • Support school readiness through children's attendance and health considerations.
  • Monitor progress, help families create action plans, and celebrate achievements.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality across programs.
  • Plan family engagement activities, workshops, and events.
  • Collaborate with education, health, and inclusion staff to deliver integrated support.
  • Prepare reports and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Represent CPC in community outreach and partnerships.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance impact.

Job description

As a Family Coach, you will build strong relationships with families, providing guidance, encouragement, and support throughout their journey. You'll help families enroll in programs, connect with valuable community resources, and develop goals that promote school readiness, family well-being, and long-term self-sufficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead with Purpose: Represent and champion CPC’s mission, vision, and values in every interaction.
  • Be a Trusted Resource: Leverage expertise in CPC programs, services, and eligibility requirements to connect families with the support they need.
  • Build Community Partnerships: Foster relationships with local organizations to strengthen referral networks and expand family resources.
  • Guide Enrollment: Support families through the Early Childhood Education enrollment process with clarity, compassion, and efficiency.
  • Assess Family Needs: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify strengths, barriers, and opportunities for growth.
  • Empower Through Coaching: Partner with families to set meaningful goals and provide personalized coaching that promotes self-sufficiency and success.
  • Promote School Readiness: Support children's attendance, health, and developmental needs to ensure they are prepared to thrive.
  • Drive Positive Outcomes: Help families create action plans, monitor progress, and celebrate achievements along the way.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure timely documentation, data entry, and confidentiality while coordinating services across programs.
  • Engage and Support Parents: Plan and facilitate family engagement activities, workshops, and events that foster connection and growth.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with education, health, and inclusion staff to provide integrated, family-centered support.
  • Ensure Compliance: Prepare accurate reports and maintain records that meet program and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent CPC in the Community: Participate in outreach efforts, committees, and partnerships that advance CPC’s mission.
  • Commit to Growth: Pursue ongoing professional development to strengthen your skills and maximize your impact.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with diverse audiences.
  • Collaboration: Works effectively as a team member, fostering partnership and shared success.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Office applications.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred. Human Services certification or an equivalent credential will also be considered.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience supporting families or working in a human services setting.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage individuals, families, and groups. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Professional Competence: Ability to interpret policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and program requirements with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications in a Windows environment preferred.
  • Confidentiality: Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Reliable Transportation: Ability to travel regularly throughout York County and maintain dependable attendance.
  • Driver Requirements: Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and meet CPC's driving requirements, including a satisfactory motor vehicle record check, as agency vehicle operation may be required.
  • Flexibility: Ability to begin the workday at various CPC locations based on program and family needs.
