Kaizen Lab Inc. seeks a GOFCC Coach / Technical Assistance Specialist to expand access to high-quality child care by guiding individuals through the licensing journey for Family Child Care (FCC) providers in Maryland.

The role emphasizes hands-on coaching, accountability, and compassionate support from interest to licensure. The specialist works directly with participants to navigate licensing, build sustainable FCC businesses, promote Maryland EXCELS participation, and launch high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Completion of 45-hour Child Development course and 45-hour Curriculum required.
• 5 years’ experience in early childhood education and licensing environments.
• Knowledge of Maryland child care delivery system and licensing processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end coaching from application to licensure.
• Monitor progress and hold participants to timelines.
• Guide participants in building sustainable Family Child Care businesses.
• Facilitate workshops and trainings in person and virtually.
• Conduct community outreach and info sessions to recruit participants.
• Build relationships with community organizations and partners.
• Represent GOFCC at events, meetings, and community spaces.
• Serve as a liaison with the Office of Child Care.
• Collaborate with community partners and maintain trust-based relationships.
• Travel to participants’ homes for coaching sessions.
• Accurately document work in the MCCRN data system.
• Track progress toward licensure, training, and Maryland EXCELS participation.
• Support newly licensed providers with Maryland EXCELS quality initiatives.
