Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking energetic instructors to run after-school chess classes in Troy, MI. You’ll teach a structured curriculum to elementary students, promoting chess fundamentals and good sportsmanship in a fun, engaging setting.

Position offers flexible weekday afternoons (2:00–5:00 PM), with 1–5 classes per week and mileage reimbursement for travel between schools. Training and materials are provided by the company.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children in educational or recreational settings.
• Ability to lead interactive, age-appropriate chess sessions independently.
• Comfortable maintaining a positive, safe classroom environment.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple schools.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Deliver curriculum on chess fundamentals and sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal, and activities.
• Travel to local school sites for each session.
