Job summary

Chess Wizards is seeking enthusiastic instructors in Lakewood, CO to run after-school chess sessions for elementary students. You will lead engaging, structured classes, travel to local school sites, and maintain a positive classroom environment.

Classes occur weekday afternoons (typically 2:00 PM–5:00 PM). Training and ongoing support are provided, with opportunities for flexible hours and growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, fun sessions.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals; explain piece movement, basic strategy, and simple tactics at an age-appropriate level.
• Ability to drive between locations.
• Weekday afternoon availability (2:00 PM–5:00 PM) to teach 1–5 classes per week.
• Commitment to safety policies and reliable, punctual performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Teach chess fundamentals using our structured curriculum.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal, and in-class activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
