Job summary

Chess Wizards is seeking enthusiastic instructors to lead after-school chess classes in Lone Tree, CO. You will teach 10–15 elementary students using our curriculum, keeping activities engaging and fun while promoting sportsmanship and critical thinking.

Expect to teach 1–5 classes weekly in weekday afternoons, with mileage reimbursement for long trips. Full training and ongoing support accompany the role, along with opportunities for advancement and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, fun sessions.
• Professional, positive, and kid-friendly demeanor.
• Genuine desire to be a positive role model and promote good sportsmanship.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals; explain piece movement, basic strategy, and simple tactics.
• Reliable personal transportation and ability to drive between locations.
• Weekday afternoon availability 2:00 PM–5:00 PM to teach 1–5 classes per week.
• Commitment to safety protocols and reliability; adhere to school policies.
• Strong punctuality and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Use our structured curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and promote good sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.

• Follow school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal, and in-class activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
