Job summary

Amtrak in Washington, DC is seeking a Fall 2026/Spring 2027 Database Analyst Co-op to support the Accessibility Office by analyzing data and helping develop guidance for accessibility initiatives.

You will identify opportunities for program improvements through data analysis and assist in creating materials and technical guidance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Active pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering.
• At least 3 years of undergraduate coursework completed or senior status.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.

Job Summary

Will support the Accessibility Office in initiatives advancing Amtrak’s accessibility program to ensure access for people with disabilities in Amtrak’s services, programs, and policies. Assist in the development of materials and technical guidance that support the Accessibility Office communications and planning. Will identify opportunities for accessibility program improvements through data analysis.

Essential Functions

• Database analysis
• Reviews customer service complaints to determine root causes
• Reviews station on time performance data
• Effective communication of analysis results

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
• Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree in Engineering
• Must have at least 3 years of academic undergraduate studies completed or a senior status at minimum.
• Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
• Understands the principles of database technology to analyze data from sources within the company.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to assess disparate situations.
• Ability to effectively communicate results of data analysis.
• Ability to travel to Amtrak stations and observe customer interactions with employees.

Pay Transparency

The hourly range is $18.00 per hour - $35.00 per hour. Pay is based on factors including school year, program of study, etc. In addition, paid internships include Amtrak rail pass privileges as a part of the experience along with one (1) PTO day per academic year.
