Job summary

Amtrak’s Fall 2026/Spring 2027 Enterprise Platform and Enablement Intern position in Washington, DC offers hands-on experience across cloud, network, workplace technology, voice, and infrastructure services. You will document how processes work and help create governance materials for leadership review.

You’ll build portfolio reporting and executive dashboards while researching industry practices and technology trends to keep EP&E’s practices current.

Qualifications

• Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
• Must be actively pursuing a degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.
• Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.

JOB SUMMARY:

E P&E manages a technology portfolio spanning cloud, network, workplace technology, voice, and infrastructure services. Keeping that many moving parts visible and consistent takes operational rigor — this intern role is a chance to build that rigor firsthand, working across the full portfolio rather than a single initiative.

You’ll help EP&E run itself better. That means documenting how the portfolio's processes actually work, building the reporting and dashboards leadership relies on, and researching what other organizations are doing in cloud, network, workplace technology, voice, and infrastructure so EP&E's practices stay current. Your output will be used — process documents that team’s reference, dashboards leadership reads, research that shapes real decisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.

Must be actively pursuing a degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.

Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Course work or experience in Business or Finance.

Course work or experience in computer science, network infrastructure or databases.

High degree of technological literacy (Power user of technology).

PAY TRANSPARENCY:

The hourly range is $18.00 per hour - $35.00 per hour. Pay is based on factors including school year, program of study, etc. In addition, paid internships include Amtrak rail pass privileges as a part of the experience along with one (1) PTO day per academic year.
