Job summary

CDM Smith in Los Angeles is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team for Summer 2027. You will work with a dynamic group of engineers on a diverse portfolio of public, federal, and industrial projects, contributing to electrical design and project delivery.

You'll help develop electrical drawings, perform calculations, assist with distribution design, and review shop drawings, gaining real-world experience in power systems, lighting, and control schemes while applying classroom

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology or related field with interest in power systems and/or electrical distribution.

Responsibilities

• Developing drawings for electrical systems (power, controls, communications, fire alarm, and security) using CADD.
• Performing electrical calculations using systems analyses software (lighting, load, voltage drop, etc.).
• Assisting in the development of electrical distribution design plans and single line diagrams.
• Reviewing shop drawings and assisting with general construction services.
