Job summary

Aalo Atomics is offering a Fall 2026 Field Engineering Intern position based in Austin, TX. You will join the Field Operations team to support manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and operation of projects during a 12- to 16-week term.

Responsibilities include on-site travel, assisting with research and logistics for special projects, and collaborating with design engineers and production teams to translate designs into real-world implementations. Eligible candidates must be U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or closely related field).
• Air travel compliant form of ID and valid Driver's License.
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• On-site work in Austin, TX for 12+ consecutive weeks.
• Willing to travel to out-of-state locations for up to two weeks at a time.
• Provide housing and daily transportation to the Austin facility; on-site parking available.
• Some tasks involve standing, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 25 lbs with PPE.
• Basic familiarity with powered and manual tools.

About the role

Join our Field Operations team in Austin as we support the manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and operation of all Aalo projects. Over a 12- to 16- week term you will work with multiple other teams to support the upcoming Aalo-0 and Aalo-X projects while gaining daily mentorship on the shop- floor as well as field operations experience.

Required Qualifications

• Completed Bachelors in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or closely related field).
• Air travel compliant form of ID and valid Driver's License.
• Physically fit for duty - capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods of time while wearing PPE.
• Able to work full-time, on-site in AustinTX, for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
• Able to Travel (at Aalo's expense) to out of state locations in the continental U.S. for up to two weeks at a time.
• Must provide own housing and daily transportation to the Austin facility; on-site parking is available.
• Some tasks involve standing, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 25lbs while wearing PPE.
• Basic familiarity with powered and manual tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• GPA of 3.4+.
• Hands-on engineering experience (course projects, research, internships, student shop, or personal builds).
• Hands on experience with power tools and heavy equipment operation.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technicians in a fast-paced shop environment.
