Job summary

Aalo Atomics is seeking a Field Operations support role in Austin, TX for a 12–16 week term to assist with manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and operation of upcoming projects. You will gain daily mentorship on the shop floor while supporting multiple teams.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering, a growth mindset, and willingness to travel. On-site work, lifting up to 50 lbs, and PPE are required.

• Completed bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering or closely related field.
• Willing to travel to out-of-state locations for short periods as needed.

About the role

Join our Field Operations team in Austin as we support the manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and operation of all Aalo projects. Over a 12‑ to 16‑week term you will work with multiple other teams to support the upcoming Aalo-0 and Aalo-X projects while gaining daily mentorship on the shop‑floor as well as field operations experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in research and logistics for special projects.

• Travel on‑site to support operations.

• Work with design engineers and manufacturing on realizing designs in the shop and in the field.

Required Qualifications

• Growth mindset and positive attitude
• Completed Bachelors in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or closely related field).
• Air travel compliant form of ID and valid Driver's License.
• Physically fit for duty – capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods of time while wearing PPE.
• Able to work full‑time, on‑site in Austin TX, for at least 12 consecutive weeks.

• Able to Travel (at Aalo’s expense) to out of state locations in the continental U.S. for up to two weeks at a time.

• Must provide own housing and daily transportation to the Austin facility; on‑site parking is available.

• Some tasks involve standing, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 25 lbs while wearing PPE.
• Basic familiarity with powered and manual tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• GPA of 3.4+.

• CAD familiarity.

• Hands‑on engineering experience (course projects, research, internships, student shop, or personal builds).

• Hands on experience with power tools and heavy equipment operation.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technicians in a fast‑paced shop environment.
