Our mission is to make nuclear energy globally accessible, starting with the Aalo-1, a 10 MWe reactor leveraging cutting-off safety, modularity, and efficiency. Based in Austin, TX, we’re rapidly growing as we work to deploy the world’s first fleet of advanced microreactors. Join us and help revolutionize energy for a sustainable future.

About the role

Join our mechanical engineers in Austin as we design, refine, and scale the manufacturing processes that turn advanced-reactor designs into hardware. Over a 12-to 16-week term you will own a clearly scoped project—from concept through implementation—while gaining daily mentorship and shop-floor experience.

What you’ll do
  • Design, build and update 3-D CAD models, detailed drawings, and GD&T.
  • Program and prove out CNC tool-paths on 3-axis mills and 5-axis mill-turn centers alongside machinists.
  • Draft work instructions, router steps, and inspection plans that satisfy ASME and internal quality standards.
  • Collect production data, perform root-cause analysis on non-conformances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Present your findings and quantified results to engineering leadership at the end of the term.
Qualifications
Required
  • Growth mindset and positive attitude
  • Currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. program in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or closely related field).
  • ≥ 3 months of hands-on engineering experience (course projects, research, internships, student shop, or personal builds).
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM and basic structural or thermal analysis.
  • Able to work full-time, on-site in Austin TX, for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
Preferred
  • GPA 3.4 + and completion of a manufacturing laboratory or capstone design course.
