Job summary

Jefferson County in Colorado is seeking a Fairgrounds Services Specialist to oversee event management, public safety, and facilities upkeep at the fairgrounds. The role is on-site with weekend and evening hours and requires the ability to work rotating schedules including Saturdays, nights, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent certificate.
• 1 year of work-related experience.
• Ability to adjust work schedule to coincide with operational/event needs including holidays.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Customer service and guest relations experience.
• Proven ability to work independently with little direction.
• Maintains best practices of cleaning techniques/supplies.
• Ability to use a variety of tools, equipment, machinery, and other essential hardware.
• Snow removal experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee event management, solving any public safety concerns.
• Set up and breakdown events and facilitate event concerns for customers and County.
• Perform administrative tasks.
• Protect County property and assets.
• Deal with sensitive and unexpected situations.
• Accept and document funds received from asset usage.
• Oversee construction and maintenance projects by assessing property and amenity conditions.
• Perform preventative and scheduled site maintenance.
• Perform general custodial and housekeeping duties to facilities.
• Grounds keeping includes snow removal from parking lots, sidewalks and patios.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment.
• Must be available to work weekends.
• Other duties as assigned.
