Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. seeks a Supervisor of Failure Analysis & Support to lead event and failure analytics, improve asset management, and drive data-driven decisions across substations and lines. You will build a capable team, develop processes, and partner with multiple units to enhance reliability and risk mitigation.

This role reports to the Manager of Asset Performance Monitoring. Location flexibility includes Akron CAET or other FirstEnergy footprints; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years of related work experience.
• Bachelor’s in non-engineering discipline considered with applicable experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 7 years of direct related experience with asset life cycle knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Direct staff managing event and failure analytics program for assets (substation and line).
• Identify asset populations with recurring reliability issues and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with business units to ensure analyses and documentation are complete and accurate.
• Develop and issue failure analytics reporting to support asset management strategy.
• Oversee capital portfolio development for projects from AMRC recommendations.
• Engage with industry experts on failure analyses and implementations.
