Job summary

Kelly is seeking a proactive Failure Analysis Technician to join our hardware manufacturing team in Texas. You will analyze returned or defective servers and subassemblies, applying root-cause analysis techniques and troubleshooting equipment.

The role requires an associate degree or technical certification, 1–3 years in failure analysis or electronics, and hands-on skills with server hardware, PCBs, and diagnostic tools. On-site training in Georgetown, production in Taylor, TX.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in failure analysis, electronics repair, or manufacturing test environments.
  • Ability to decipher schematics and technical documentation with ease.
  • Hands-on knowledge of server hardware, PCBs, or system-level troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with ESD protocols and lab environments.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Dive into returned or defective servers, boards, and subassemblies to analyze failure points.
  • Apply root-cause analysis tools like 5 Whys and Fishbone, plus fault isolation techniques.
  • Troubleshoot hardware with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and diagnostics software.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering to drive corrective actions.
  • Track failure trends and identify yield improvement opportunities.
  • Document findings clearly in reports and internal systems.

Type: Full‑Time | 8a‑5p M‑F | starting at $22/hr

What You'll Do
  • Dive deep into returned or defective servers, boards, and subassemblies to analyze failure points
  • Use root cause analysis tools like 5 Whys and Fishbone, along with advanced fault isolation techniques
  • Work hands‑on with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and software diagnostics to troubleshoot hardware and system‑level issues

Who You Are
  • You have an associate's degree or technical certification in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • You bring 1‑3 years of experience in failure analysis, electronics repair, or manufacturing test environments
  • You can decipher schematics and technical documentation with ease
  • You have hands‑on knowledge of server hardware, PCBs, or system‑level troubleshooting
  • You're comfortable with ESD protocols and lab environments
  • Your communication and documentation skills set you apart
Bonus Points
  • Background in server or data center hardware manufacturing
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or quality methodologies
