Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) is seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer to join the Product Development team in Etters, PA. The role focuses on root cause analysis of failed connectors, development of analysis processes, and collaboration with customers and internal teams to drive solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 5–10 years of failure analysis experience, familiarity with SEM, mechanical/electrical testing, and data analysis tools such as Excel and Minitab.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of failure analysis experience or with electrical connectors.
• Experience with SEM, mechanical testing, and electrical testing.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical people.

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis of failed connectors.
• Create a failure analysis process and data repository to capture historical data.
• Interface with customers to explain status, root cause, and solution.
• Confirm diagnoses through testing and inspection.
• Prepare test samples and coordinate with lab staff.
• Suggest corrective actions to design, process, or inspection.
• Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines on root cause.
• Analyze testing results and prepare reports for customers.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing for 8D reviews.
