Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks an experienced Failure Analysis Engineer to lead investigations of connector failures. The role is based in Etters, PA, and involves inspection, testing, data analysis, and collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers to determine root causes and corrective actions.

Ideal candidates will have 5–10 years in failure analysis, strong communication skills, and experience with SEM, mechanical/electrical

Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years of experience with failure analysis and/or electrical connectors.
  • Experience with data analysis software such as MS Excel and Minitab is a plus.
  • Experience developing test plans for mechanical and environmental stresses.
  • Ability to communicate with technical & non-technical people.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Desire to solve problems and identify solutions.
  • Knowledge of copper alloys and high-performance engineering thermoplastics is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of electrical connectors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause analysis of failed connectors through inspection and testing.
  • Create a failure analysis process and data repository for historical reference.
  • Interface with customers to communicate issues, status, root cause, and solutions.
  • Confirm diagnoses through testing and inspection, and prepare test samples/requests.
  • Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines and suppliers.
  • Analyze results and prepare reports/presentations for internal and external customers.
