Job summary

Programming.com is seeking a senior hardware engineer focused on hardware quality and failure analysis within a larger hardware engineering organization that designs, implements, and delivers Switching and Routing products.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in hardware board circuit and system design, troubleshooting, or failure analysis, with hands-on work on high-speed SerDes/serial signaling and experience with diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and logic

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in hardware board circuit and system design, troubleshooting, or failure analysis.
• Experience designing for high-speed signals using SerDes/serial transmission.
• Experience with electrical diagnostics and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, and network traffic generators such as Ixia and Spirent).

We are a close-knit team focused on hardware quality and failure analysis, within a larger

hardware engineering organization which designs, implements, and delivers leading Switching

and Routing products.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related degree.
• 6+ years of experience in hardware board circuit and system design, troubleshooting, or failure analysis.
• Experience designing for high-speed signals using SerDes/serial transmission technologies.
• Experience with electrical diagnostics and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, and network traffic generators such as Ixia and Spirent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CPUs/embedded CPUs and FPGAs/PLDs.
• Good understanding of control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, and I2C.
• Experience with MS Excel and data collection.
• Familiarity with Python, PERL, or similar scripting and execution languages.
