The role requires a Master’s in Chemistry (or related field) with 18 graduate hours in Chemistry; Doctorate preferred. Candidates should have higher education teaching experience, including online instruction, and a commitment to student success.

We are seeking our next Faculty - Chemistry who will be all-in on our mission and who provides high-quality, learner-centered instruction in Chemistry courses, including General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and other related courses in classroom, laboratory, technology-supported, and online environments. Faculty are responsible for preparing and delivering course content, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining academic standards consistent with Amarillo College policies and approved curriculum.
The faculty member supports student success by maintaining subject matter expertise, engaging in professional development, and participating in departmental, divisional, and college initiatives that promote teaching excellence, student engagement, and continuous improvement. Faculty are expected to actively contribute to Amarillo College’s mission of transforming our community and economy through learning, innovation, and achievement.
Required: Master’s Degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline with at least eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Chemistry.
Preferred: Doctorate Degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
Required: One (1) or more years of teaching experience in higher education, including student teaching experience. Experience teaching introductory and college-level Chemistry courses, including laboratory instruction. Experience teaching in online or technology-supported learning environments.
