This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Faculty - Physics who will be all-in on our mission and whoprovides high-quality, learner-centered instruction in Physics courses, including Introductory Physics, College Physics, Principles of Physics, and other related courses in classroom, laboratory, technology-supported, and online environments. Faculty are responsible for preparing and delivering course content, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining academic standards consistent with Amarillo College policies and approved curriculum.
The faculty member supports student success by maintaining subject matter expertise, engaging in professional development, and participating in departmental, divisional, and college initiatives that promote teaching excellence, student engagement, and continuous improvement. Faculty are expected to actively contribute to Amarillo College’s mission of transforming our community and economy through learning, innovation, and achievement.
Required: Master’s Degree in Physics or a closely related discipline with at least eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Physics.
Preferred: Doctorate Degree in Physics or a closely related discipline.
Required: Required: One (1) or more years of teaching experience in higher education, including student teaching experience. Experience teaching introductory and college-level Physical courses, including laboratory instruction. Experience teaching in online or technology-supported learning environments.
Preferred: Three (3) or more years of teaching experience in higher education; student teaching experience qualifies toward this requirement. Experience teaching introductory and college-level Physics courses, including laboratory instruction. Experience teaching in online or technology-supported learning environments.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, communicate effectively, and operate standard office and classroom equipment. The employee may occasionally lift and move instructional materials or equipment weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Working Environment: This job may operate in a classroom, online, or tech supported setting. This role routinely uses standard classroom and office equipment such as microphones, audio/video-recorders, computers, overhead projectors, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets and fax machines.
