Job summary

High Point University’s Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position. The role focuses on teaching PharmD students and contributing to scholarship, service, and the university community.

Academic rank will be commensurate with experience, with an estimated distribution of 60–80% teaching, 10–30% service, and 10–15% scholarship as the program matures.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively.
• Develop and publish scholarly work.
• Design and implement teaching activities that stimulate critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and teach content within the integrated curriculum as appointed by the Department Chair.
• Develop and offer an elective course aligned with area(s) of expertise as needed.
• Utilize ExamSoft or other tools to evaluate student learning.
• Provide mentorship and advisement for students as appointed by leadership.
• Communicate teaching and scholarship activities with the Department Chair.
• Contribute to scholarship in the field or SoTL (Scholarship of Teaching & Learning).
• Integrate collaborations among clinical and basic sciences in education and service.
• Advance the school’s service mission to meet community needs and represent the department within the university.
• Participate in committees and professional organizations as appointed.
• Abide by university and school policies and undertake other duties as assigned.
