High Point University’s Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track faculty position focused on teaching PharmD students. The role also encompasses scholarship and service to the department, university, and wider community.

Ideal candidates will have Pharm.D., M.D., or Ph.D. in related biomedical fields, with strong communication skills and a record of teaching in pharmacy or medical settings. Rank will reflect experience.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D., M.D., or Ph.D. in pharmaceutics, pharmacology, physiology, toxicology, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, or related field is required.
• Postdoctoral experience and strong credentials in relevant pharmacy-related areas are preferred.
• Medical or pharmacy teaching experience is preferred and prioritized if available.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and teach content within the integrated curriculum as appointed by the Department Chair.
• Develop and offer an elective course aligned with area of expertise.
• Utilize ExamSoft or similar software to conduct pharmacy assessments.
• Provide mentorship and advisement to students in the School of Pharmacy as assigned by leadership.
• Communicate teaching and scholarship activities with the Department Chair.
• Contribute to scholarship in the field of study or Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL).
• Foster collaboration between clinical and basic sciences in scholarship, education, and service.
• Advance community service missions of the School of Pharmacy and University.
